Human in the loop

A design where an automated system pauses for a person to review, approve or take over certain decisions.

Instead of letting software act alone on everything, the system sends some cases to a person: a refund, a complaint, a reply to an unhappy review, or anything outside its rules.

It keeps automation safe in the places where a mistake would be costly or embarrassing.
